Soflex has been manufacturing all types of high quality contact lenses with state of the art technology for over 30 years.
In 1997 we were granted the CE mark as well as ISO 9001 standards.
Our manufacturing system consists of the latest ultra-precision high speed C.N.C. diamond turning lathe cut machines - OPTOFORM 40 with the FTS unit.
The FTS – 1000 - Fast Tool Servo system, is an oscillating tool which is designed specially for the OPTOFORM 40 and used for the production of high quality optical surfaces which are non-rotationally symmetrical.
This computerized manufacturing system together with our skilled and well-trained staff, allow Soflex to make a wide range of lenses within and outside the contact lens industry as well as other products with special and unique designs, from many sophisticated materials.
In 2009 Soflex purchased a new robotic system for its production, developed by Sterling Ultra Precision Ltd. USA in cooperation with Soflex's R & D department. Soflex is the first contact lens manufacturer world-wide to install this robotic system.
The robot (manufactured by SEIKO-EPSON), in combination with our advanced lathes, significantly upgrade the contact lenses production capabilities in the factory and the whole process is computerized control.
The robot is capable of simultaneously feeding of up to 4 CNC lathes, and provides a smooth, continuous process from the product raw material through to the finished product.
In addition to our extensive product catalog , Soflex's R and D department plan and manufacture custom made contact lenses.
Soflex also manufactures lenses and other accurate lathe cut products needed in industry for example the electro optical and medical industries.
With the installation of this new system, Soflex has become a technological leader in the contact lens field.
